Introducing New Sunrise Elephant Treks at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Thailand

Welcoming the sunrise atop an elephant – one of the most unforgettable experiences in the world

Golden Triangle, Thailand – 2012-12-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — Picture this. It’s early morning. There’s a chill in the air. The last remaining stars are twinkling in the clear night sky, and in the distance there’s a faint glow on the horizon. But there’s also a large shadow, something solid, something warm. Something alive? And there’s another one. It takes a moment to realize, but …could these be elephants?

Imagine starting a day this way, with an elephant trek to watch the sun rise from behind the mountains of Laos, casting a warm light over the Mekong River. Pretty magical, no? Well, imagine no longer.Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle is introducing a newSunrise Elephant Trek for the winter season, when the mornings are cool, the skies are clear, and a beautiful sunrise is pretty much guaranteed.

Setting off at 6:0 0am before it gets light, the new Sunrise Elephant Trek is the ideal next adventure for those who have already completed basic mahout training. To an accompaniment of the dawn chorus of birdsong, the trek takes guests up to the Camp Peak, the highest point of the Camp, where they will be able to welcome the new day from atop their elephant, or from the viewpoint sala with a cup of freshly-brewed local coffee in hand. There are few places in the world offering more stunning sunrises than this. As the sun raises its head from behind the Lao mountains, the Mekong winds its way through the valley like a ribbon of gold, and the mists begin to rise from the plains of Burma.

But it’s not finished yet. After taking time to enjoy the sunrise, and perhaps a second cup of coffee and a pastry or some fruit, the elephant trek heads back down the hill to the bathing pool, where the gentle giants (and guests, should they be willing to get wet) enjoy some much-deserved playtime in the water. Truly an unforgettable way to start the day.

The new Sunrise Elephant Treks will be available at Four SeasonsTented Camp Golden Triangle throughout the winter months, weather-permitting. Each trek is priced at THB 7,920.00 per couple, subject to government tax and service charge.
