Hut, Hut Hike! Four Seasons Hotel Austin Gearing Up to Welcome College Football Fans

Front drive tailgating, creative cocktails and more planned as UT fever invades Austin

2012-08-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — With the first University of Texas football game just days away,Four Seasons Hotel Austin is ready to “kick-off” another memorable season filled with UT-themed offerings throughout the Hotel.

Front Drive Live!

From valet parkers wearing special Four Seasons UT jerseys and a decked out tailgating truck on the front drive to burnt orange flower arrangements in the lobby, guests arriving at the downtown luxury Hotel will be immediately immersed in all the fun that surrounds a Texas football game. Live music by local artists, face painting and festive lighting are also part of the Hotel’s football weekend playbook.

Lighting up the Lobby Lounge

Fan and alumni faces won’t be the only thing to light up when UT brings home a victory this year. Inspired by the UT Tower, which always glows burnt orange after a win, the Lobby Lounge bar introduces its new “The Tower” cocktail.

Available daily throughout football season, the drink combines Cinco vodka, St-Germain, lime juice and Izze Sparkling Clementine soda in a highball glass with an orange wedge. However, it’s the special touch only offered on game days that makes this cocktail truly unique: once a hometown win is confirmed, the drink will glow from within thanks to the addition of two orange LED ice cubes.

“Anytime the Longhorns win, the Lobby Lounge swarms with fans celebrating the victory. This cocktail gives them one more way to show their pride in a fun and unique way,” says Jim Lee, manager of the popular downtown lounge known as “Austin’s Living Room.”

Sold for USD 14.00 each, The Tower cocktail will be available through the last UT football game of the 2012 season.

Spa Super-Fans

Those not content wearing their Longhorn pride only on their sleeves can go one step further in The Spa, where football-inspired nail treatments will be offered throughout the season.

The Longhorn Manicure and Pedicure feature a Texas-made bourbon-sugar scrub followed by a hydrating orange blossom massage and an application of Spa Rituals’ shimmery burnt orange “Revere” nail lacquer.

Offered Thursday through Sunday on UT home football weekends, the Longhorn Manicure is USD 40.00 and the Pedicure is USD 50.00. Guests may also opt for a football design or UT nail decals for an additional USD 10.00. To make an appointment, guests may call 512 685 8160.
