Hilton Glasgow Unveils First Look at Trio of Dining Destinations

GLASGOW, Scotland, 2012-07-18 — /travelprnews.com/ — Following an extensive multi-million pound renovation and redesign, Hilton Glasgow has announced the introduction of three new food and beverage outlets to the hotel.

Connich Bar, Morblas Restaurant and Ti Tea Lounge are three new concepts for the stylish city centre hotel, which will celebrate 20 years in the city later this year.

The first to launch is Connich Bar, taking its name from the Scottish Gaelic word meaning ‘to encounter’. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the much-anticipated venue is designed to be a stylish choice for hotel guests and visitors alike, providing the perfect place to meet and enjoy the talk of the day. Inviting guests to experience the warmth and passion of Scottish Hospitality at its best, the menu in Connich Bar offers both signature and classic cocktails as well as wee nibbles and bigger bites.

Following a remarkable overhaul from design company Central Design Studio, the bar has been successfully transformed into a modern, relaxing and welcoming space perfectly suited to the hotel’s location. The venue is set across one level and features extensive seating, TV screens for news and sporting events as well as a window wall allowing plenty of natural light.

The bar features stylish oversized arm chairs and banquette seating using a striking palette of orange and a more muted grey, combining the use of contrasting fabrics and textures. Mood lighting throughout the space compliments the ever changing Scottish weather, whilst more intimate areas for small meetings and get-togethers can be found dotted throughout the bar.

Simon Magnus, food and beverage manager, who will lead a team of talented mixologists, bartenders and waiting staff, said, “We are delighted to open the doors to Connich; the bar looks fantastic and we are confident that it will become a popular venue in city. Hilton Glasgow regularly plays host to many award ceremonies, corporate functions and leisure breaks as well as several celebrity guests, and we are sure that the bar will be an instant success. We have created a much needed modern venue, and our new food and drinks menu together with the relaxed atmosphere should prove to be a welcome addition to the overall hotel experience.”

Connich Bar will serve a fantastic range of specially selected wines and beers, premier spirits, Champagnes and Prosecco as well as an extensive list of malt whiskies. The bar also boasts a varied cocktail list, which is comprised of classic, Champagne, signature and calorie conscious cocktails.

Hungry guests can choose from a selection of sandwiches, wraps and paninis as well as the introduction of innovative Scottish themed snacks such as Tattie Scone Nachos and Crisp Haggis Bites. For those looking for something slightly more substantial, Connich Bar’s bigger bites range from healthy salads to classic fish and chips.

Following closely behind Connich Bar will be the new restaurant concept, Morblas. Derived from the Scottish Gaelic words for “Great” and “Taste”, Morblas will cater for all palates. A mixture of fresh starters, hearty main courses and grills as well as an extensive dessert menu will ensure dining options for all tastes.

Also launching in summer 2012 is the new afternoon tea lounge, Ti. Derived from the Scottish Gaelic word for tea, Ti represents a modern, fashionable and cosmopolitan companion to Connich Bar. Filled with energy and personality Ti not only offers traditional afternoon tea but will introduce new versions of the classic with the “Ti Afternoon Tea with a Twist” including “Confessions of a Chocoholic” and “Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea”.
