Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport seeks bids for two transformational projects

Hotel/Travel Plaza and Green Acres Energy Park to Transform Airport

ATLANTA, 2015-7-28 — /Travel PR News/ — Airport officials are seeking bids for two transformational projects that will change the face of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the years ahead. Airport leaders will be available to discuss the plans Tuesday, July 28. Pre-proposal conferences will then be held for both projects following the press availability.

The first pre-proposal conference will address the Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified firms to submit plans to design, construct, finance, operate and maintain a hotel/travel plaza/mixed-use development complex at Hartsfield-Jackson. The new development will include a 300-room, four-star hotel, travel plaza with a gas station, Class A office space and possible residential units. Three respondents have qualified to submit a proposal. The pre-qualified respondents are Airmall, USA, Inc., Regent Partners Joint Venture, and Carter/Majestic Realty Co./GPM Investments, LLC.

The second pre-proposal conference will address the RFP from qualified firms to submit plans to design, construct, finance, operate, and maintain a facility capable of repurposing/reprocessing/recycling at least 90 percent of domestic municipal solid waste generated at Hartsfield-Jackson. The Green Acres ATL Energy Park will also process chipped yard trimmings from the City’s Department of Public Works.

“These projects will ensure the continued growth of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport,” Aviation General Manager Miguel Southwell said today. “A top-tier hotel on Airport property will offer travelers greater convenience and choice. Construction of the Green Acres facility will go far toward achieving our goal of making Hartsfield-Jackson one of the most sustainable airports in the world.”
