Hamburg, Germany, 2014-7-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Right on time for the summer holidays, and as planned, the new, more comfortable P1 multi-storey car park, close to the terminals, has entered operation. Around 2,800 parking spaces are now available over six levels with a total surface area of more than 70,000 m2 – the size of around ten football pitches. Hamburg Airport has a total of approximately 12,000 parking spaces available for passengers and visitors. With the opening of the new P1 car park, around 9,200 spaces are directly adjacent to the terminals. And there’s good news for long-term parking customers, too – the opening of P1 also means additional holiday parking within walking distance of the terminals.
Comfortable and modern
Thanks to its convenient location right next to the Fuhlsbuettel Bypass (Zeppelinstrasse), P1 is quick and easy to reach for passengers and visitors. Two spirals for driving up and down the levels make the car park easy to use. Just like the spaces in all the other car parks at Hamburg Airport, the parking spaces in the new P1 will be 2.50 metres wide, significantly exceeding the minimum width. And with an overhead clearance of 3.00 metres, Level 0 provides extra space for higher vehicles.
Wolfgang Pollety, Managing Director of Hamburg Airport, who officially opened P1 to-day with, comments that “The new P1 multi-storey car park offers passengers and visitors 2,800 parking spaces just a few steps from the terminals. Special extras, like the 3.00 metre overhead clearance on Level 0, a comfortable parking space width, and plenty of daylight, contribute to even more quality and service when parking at Hamburg Airport.”
Parking Management Centre now in Terminal 2, Departures Level
The Parking Management Centre is now even easier for parking customers to reach. The new Centre opened on the Departures Level of Terminal 2, opposite check-in Row 10, on July 1.
