Halifax, N.S., 2015-12-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Halifax Stanfield would like to share these tips to make your holiday more jolly and help you fly through the airport with ease.
“We are approaching one of the busiest times of the year here at Halifax Stanfield,” says Joyce Carter, Halifax International Airport Authority President & CEO. “We know travelling over the holidays is exciting, but it may also be stressful. So, we’re pleased to share travel tips with our passengers so they can be well prepared.”
1. More Time to be Jolly
Allow extra time to accommodate winter driving conditions; to find a parking spot at the airport, if needed; for airline check-in and to move through airport security.
2. Parking Your Sleigh
There are a variety of parking choices and payment options at Halifax Stanfield. The covered parkade with pedway offers hourly and daily rates. In addition to the parkade, other parking options include the exterior parking lot in front of the terminal building, and the Park’N Fly lot.
For security and congestion reasons, vehicles cannot be left unattended at the curbside in front of the terminal building. Unattended vehicles may be ticketed and towed.
3. Let it Snow (or not!)
Airlines may adjust their flight schedules due to winter weather conditions here and/or elsewhere. Travellers are advised to check with their airline directly and visit www.flyhalifax.com for the latest flight information.
4. No Wrapping Required
CATSA recommends air travellers not wrap gifts (being carried in carry-on baggage) as their contents may need to be inspected. So, Tartan Team and Airport employee volunteers will provide a free gift wrapping service post security for those domestic passengers travelling to a non-stop destination. The service will be available December 18-23 from 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Donations will be collected in support of Feed Nova Scotia at the gift wrapping station.
5. Make a List, Check it Twice
Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) screening officers are responsible for ensuring passenger security. Passengers themselves play an important role at checkpoints, as their cooperation and understanding help keep the screening lines flowing.
