Global Business Travel Association Appoints Top Indian Buyer to Its Asia Advisory Board

Bangkok, Thailand, 2012-10-4 — /travelprnews.com/ — GBTA is thrilled to announce that Mr. Indriyajit Sethi  vice president, Group Strategic Sourcing for the TATA Group has accepted a position on GBTA’s Asia Advisory Board.  Mr. Sethi manages a TATA group aggregated buying shared services unit, reporting to Mr Ishaat Hussain (Director TATA Sons and member Group Corporate Center, TATA Group) TATA Group is the conglomerate that has diverse business interests including the Taj Group. As part of his strategic objectives he initiated group networking among the procurement teams and achieved wins in the areas of Insurance, IT, Oil based products, Air travel and MRO. He and his team manage around $600 million USD of indirect spend annually and through building long term strategic relationships have helped the TATA group to save over half a billion USD cumulatively in the last ten years.

Previous to the TATA group he held senior positions in brand management, product management and sales and worked in the FMCG and Retail banking sectors.

Mr. Sethi holds a PGDM (a full time MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, India.
