George Best Belfast City Airport’s Community fund joined forces with the Prince’s Trust to support the career development of young people in North Down and East Belfast

BELFAST, 2014-6-12 — /Travel PR News/ — George Best Belfast City Airport’s Community fund has joined forces with the Prince’s Trust to help support the career development of young people in North Down and East Belfast.

Emma Gilmore, a member of the airport’s Community Fund Committee, Fund, has sponsored the Prince’s Trust Development Awards which will allow the young people to invest in the training or equipment required to enhance their employability and career prospects.

Emma Gilmore, a member of the airport’s Community Fund Committee, has completed the Award Assessor training to mentor recipients of the awards. She said: “We share the Prince’s Trust’s passion for creating opportunities for young adults. We are dedicated to investing in the future of younger generations, which is why the Development Award was an obvious choice for our Community Fund to support.”

Claire Younger, aged 19 from Bangor is a proud mum to 3 year old Zac. Having left school to provide for her son, she aspires to be a theatrical makeup artist, and with support from the airport’s Community Fund through the Prince’s Trust, she is now once step closer to achieving this dream.

She said: “I now have a brand new uniform and professional make-up artist tool kit which has inspired confidence in my own ability as I complete Level 2 Beauty Therapy.

“What’s more important is that I feel like a mum that my son can be very proud of. Being a talented make-up artist, on the set of a major Northern Ireland film production set, no longer feels like a fantasy, but most definitely a reality within my reach.”

Emma continued:“Having met Claire, I have been nothing but impressed by her drive and motivation in order to fulfil her dreams. I’m very grateful to have the opportunity, as a member of the airport’s Community fund Committee, to reach out to young people like Claire and provide a little helping hand along the way.”
