GBTA executive director and COO Michael W. McCormick named member of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board

Alexandria, VA, 2014-04-3 — /Travel PR News/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA)—the voice of the global business travel industry—is pleased to announce that Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO, has been named a member of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. As a new member, he joins the Board which serves as the advisory body to the Secretary of Commerce on matters relating to the travel and tourism industry in the United States.

Board members represent a broad cross-section of the industry, including transportation services, financial services, and hotels and restaurants, as well as a mix of firms from across the country. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Board provides advice that helps the government prioritize the travel and tourism policies that will contribute to growth, including enhanced visa issuance and travel facilitation, increased investment in transportation infrastructure, and research for decision-making.
