GBTA Hits Milestone in Chapter Integration Providing New Benefits to GBTA Chapter Members

Alexandria, VA, 2014-9-3 — /Travel PR News/ — The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – recently announced the formation of the San Antonio Chapter of GBTA.

An initial February 2014 meeting in San Antonio showed overwhelming interest and desire for a local GBTA chapter from both Allied and Direct members. A Board of Directors was elected, bylaws were developed and committees were defined. The chapter now is an officially registered non-profit corporation with the State of Texas as well as the IRS and has a fully operational website.

San Antonio GBTA’s official kickoff luncheon will take place September 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mokara Hotel in San Antonio, TX featuring keynote speaker GBTA Executive Director and COO Michael W. McCormick.

The GBTA Chapter President’s Council and the GBTA Board of Directors have also recently approved an exciting new member benefit structure that significantly expands the benefits available to GBTA Chapter members. New GBTA Community Level benefits for members of official GBTA Chapters include complimentary access to GBTA’s Global Business Travel Magazine, access to the GBTA Daily News Brief, access to GBTA webinars and access to the GBTA Career Center.

“This is another major milestone for GBTA,” said GBTA President and CEO Donna Kelliher. “We are so proud to find a way, together, to better interact with and integrate with GBTA Chapters and Affiliates across the country, adding to our ability to share knowledge, resources and industry best practices as well as increasing networking opportunities across the business travel industry.”

In addition, a new membership tier coming soon–“All Access” – has been added that will provide expanded benefits and an annual discount for business travel professionals who want to take advantage of education and networking opportunities at the local, national and global levels.
