Four Seasons Hotel Mexico DF Offers One of a Kind Tours

Experience Mexican culture with architecture and design tours, and the Lucha Libre

México, D.F., Mexico – 2012-11-22 — /travelprnews.com/ — Four Seasons Hotel Mexico DF offers guests tours to sites of interest that no other hotel offers, thanks to the effort of the Concierges who have worked hard to offer unique experiences for guests of the Hotel. These tours include visits to museums or places of interest that even locals do not have the possibility of experiencing. Tours offered include:

The Architecture of Luis Barragán

One very interesting experience is visiting the Luis Barragán masterpieces. Architect Luis Barragán was one of the most important Mexican architects of the twentieth century and the only one to obtain the Pritzker Prize, in 1980. His constructions frequently are visited by students and university professors of architecture from around the world.

The Convent of the Capuchinas is one of his masterpieces. Another is Gilardi House, widely recognized as one of the few commendable examples of contemporary religious architecture, and one of the last projects of Barragán, designed it for art collector Francisco Gilardi. Probably the most photographed house of all that he designed, Gilardi House is an experiment on the path of the sun.

His own home and studio Casa Barragán was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 because it “integrates both modern and traditional artistic trends in a new format.”

An experienced guide will explain these works and others forFour Seasons guests.

Contemporary Mexican Design

A very special tour that has as a central axis a visit to emblematic shops of fashion, interior and industrial design is the tour of Contemporary Mexican Design. There is currently a debate in relation to the essence and the existence of a purely Mexican design. Many people are wondering how design made in the country, and want to know a little more about its history.

Lucha Libre

A unique experience for foreign tourists and that has much success among locals is going to the Lucha Libre, which without a doubt has been one of the most interesting social phenomena of recent years. Regarded as the “Circus of the People,” the Lucha Libre is now a form of entertainment for the upper classes too. The characteristic that is more than important of Mexican Lucha Libre is the use of masks of different colours and designs. These embody good and evil. A guide accompanies guests and explains to them that the show is not only limited to watching the fights, but also in the atmosphere created by the public: screams, laughter, tears, despair and joy are just some of the elements that the public feels when witnessing Lucha Libre.

For all tours, Four Seasons guests are taken in comfortable transportation and always accompanied by the best guides that the city can offer. To take these tours within the capital and in nearby towns and cities offers travellers unique perspectives and understanding of the culture and traditions of Mexico.
