Flybe starts new route to Palma from Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Doncaster, England, 2017-Jul-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Judith Machin deserves an A* as the caring mum takes daughter Emily on a post GCSE exams holiday – the duo were the first to book on the new Flybe route from Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) to Palma which started at the weekend (July 7).

Judith, from Rossington, booked the new route when it launched on February 14, showing that a mother’s love is hard to beat!

Judith said: “We’ve flown from Doncaster Sheffield Airport a number of times and it is my airport of choice, after all it takes me eight minutes to get there from my house.

“I’ve been to Majorca before but Emily has never been and I knew that she would be worn out after her exams and thought that a girly mother/ daughter holiday before she starts at sixth form would be just what she needed.

“I was amazed when I got the call to say that we were the first passengers to book on the new route. I knew I was quick off the mark when they went on sale.

“The airport have been great and have invited us to use their Premium Lounge as we were the first to book. I used to work for Servisair at the airport but haven’t seen the changes that have been made. It will be nice to be pampered and start our holiday off in style.”

The route, run by low cost airline Flybe, is now operating twice weekly from DSA to the Spanish city on the Mediterranean island of Majorca.

Steve Gill, chief executive at Doncaster Sheffield Airport said: “It was great to welcome Judith and Emily to the airport today along with all of the other passengers making the most of this new route.

“It is always fantastic to see the first flight set off on its new journey. Our customers asked for more low cost flights to quality holiday spots and we listened to them.

“We are really pleased that Flybe have added this route to its already impressive range of popular sun soaked destinations, with great prices and schedules too.

Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Office, commented: “We are pleased to begin flying this new route from Doncaster Sheffield. The timings of the service gives Yorkshire-based passengers the flexibility to choose between either a long weekend or a full week or two in the sun. We look forward to welcoming all our new passengers on board.”

Palma, the resort city in the western Mediterranean, is a vibrant and stylish capital which is bursting with life all year round. It boasts trendy restaurants, cafes, shops and nightlife, as well as a thriving art scene. It is often compared to Barcelona and, being within a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, it makes for the perfect city break.
