Flybe adds extra 35,000 seats to its summer 2017 routes from Yorkshire’s Doncaster Sheffield Airport

Doncaster, England, 2016-Sep-23 — /Travel PR News/ — AN extra 35,000 seats are being added from Yorkshire’s Doncaster Sheffield Airport as Flybe launch their summer 2017 routes.

The Flybe routes for next summer go on sale today (September 20) and the original eight destinations which were launched earlier this year will become 10 for next summer with Dublin and Dusseldorf being added to the roster.

This announcement comes as the airport celebrates a fifth consecutive record month for passenger growth, carrying over 1 million passengers for the last twelve months.

Steve Gill, chief executive of Doncaster Sheffield Airport said: “We are delighted to announce that Flybe will be strengthening their relationship with Doncaster Sheffield Airport as they are extending the Dublin and Dusseldorf routes, which take off for winter next month (October 30), into our summer programme.

“The routes to Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Faro, Alicante, Malaga, Newquay and Jersey will continue to operate with low cost flights on sale from today meaning customers can make considerable savings by booking ahead for their travels next summer

“Yorkshire passengers have really started to make the most of these routes with Amsterdam, Berlin, Faro and Jersey amongst our most popular and with bookings already looking strong for the new Dublin and Dusseldorf routes over winter.   Business has welcomed the European hub routes, the terminal investments making us so convenient to use and facilities like the premium lounge allowing us become the first choice airport for Sheffield City Region’s business community.

“Flybe have been a very welcome addition to the airport and we’ve had a record breaking summer thanks to the additional routes and the Great Yorkshire Way, the new motorway link road from Junction 3 of the M18, improving access to the airport. The enhanced access means quicker and easier journeys to the airport for passengers, but importantly it also transforms the airports catchment area. There are now an additional 1 million passengers within 60 minutes of the airport.”

“Doncaster Sheffield airport is proving itself as the very best, most convenient airport for Sheffield business travellers,” says Vincent Hodder, Flybe’s Chief Revenue Officer. “We have been pleased to see increasing numbers of customers using our services. Over the last twelve months we have continued to grow and develop the routes we are offering to provide the most cost-effective, efficient and flexible service we can.

“Flybe is committed to responding to our customers’ needs. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to create a schedule that carries over to Summer 2017 the two new winter routes to Dusseldorf and Dublin that start next month, as well as continue through our sun routes and flights to other key Euro city destinations.

“In providing a ‘One Stop to the World’, Flybe’s codeshare partners also offer regional customers extensive opportunities to enjoy seamless long haul travel. This benefits those looking for onward connections meaning there is now no need to go anywhere near the large hectic London hub airports!”

Tickets are available for booking now at www.flybe.com from £29.99 one way including taxes and charges and currently available for travel from 26th March through to 13th August 2017.
