Festival PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL Announces New Talent

2012-07-23 — /travelprnews.com/ — Festival PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL Presented by Target, an event celebrating Hispanic entertainment, culture and community, announces Sie7e,Matt Hunter, Funkdation Crew, Sebastien De La Cruz (America’s Got Talent), Elida Reyna and Michael Salgado, Lorena Rojas and Miguel Cotto are joining the line-up of talent performing and appearing during the free, open to the public daytime Festival events at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio on Sept. 1- 2.

Visitors to the Convention Center can catch live performances by some of today’s most exciting musical acts. The additions of performances by Puerto Rican singing sensation Sie7e, 14-year-old Internet sensation Matt Hunter, Mexican Hip Hop dance group Funkdation Crew, “Million Dollar Mariachi” from America’s Got Talent Sebastian De La Cruz, and Latin Grammy winner Elida Reyna and Tejano singer and accordionist Michael Salgado, coupled with appearances by Mexican TV star Lorena Rojas and three-division world boxing champion Miguel Cotto, leave no doubt that San Antonio is the destination for a star-studded Labor Day weekend.

Day or night, Festival PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL is the place to be. Pop icon drummer Shelia E., singer Sie7e, and Dominican rapper El Cata, “Electro Latino” star Juan Magán, and “Million Dollar Mariachi” Sebastien De La Cruz (America’s Got Talent) and Hip Hop dance sensation Funkdation Crew will also join the mega-wattage of talent taking the stage during Festival’s evening concerts at the Alamodome Sept. 1- 2. Festival PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL will deliver two of the most dynamic nights in Latino music with its wide array of artists and musical genres. Luis Miguel, the Warner Music artist and five-time GRAMMY Award winner, will headline an evening performance on Sunday, Sept. 2. Daddy Yankee will close the concerts on Saturday, Sept. 1. Additional concert performances at the two-day Festival PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL include: Prince Royce, Tito “El Bambino,” Larry Hernandez, 3Ball MTY, Banda Los Recoditos, and Olga Tañon. These diverse musical acts represent the variety of popular Hispanic music.

In addition to the free musical performances, Festival People En EspaÑol’s daytime activities at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center will offer visitors the opportunity to catch Q&A sessions with celebrities including three- division world boxing champion Miguel Cotto, Mexican TV star Lorena Rojas, Mexican singer Priscilla Ángel,Mexican actress Maite Perroni, Venezuelan actress Gaby Espino, Mexican actor David Zepeda,and more. Fans can participate in celebrity meet and greets and hear their favorite stars discuss topics such as musical influences and breaking into show business—all while celebrating the best of Latino culture and community. Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear tips from leading industry experts on topics ranging from fashion to health and wellness, and enjoy appearances by PEOPLE EN ESPAÑOL columnists Maria Marin (author), Jose Fernandez (fitness expert), and Jeanette Torres (family expert).

There will be a special tribute to Selena, the late singer known as “the Queen of Tejano music,” with an exclusive Q&A with her family and a special performance by AB Quintanilla & Kumbia Kings/AllStarz at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. All daytime sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, and Sunday, Sept. 2.
