CVG Employee Joins Hall of Fame for Providing Excellent Service

2013-04-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — A CVG employee will be inducted into the Tourism Council of Greater Cincinnati’s Jim Knippenberg Hall of Fame based on the excellent customer service she provides visitors to our area.

Regina “Jeannie” Bass, the airport’s receptionist for 14 year, who assists more than 100 visitors a day with questions about their travel, will be inducted to the Knippenberg Hall of Fame at the ROSE Awards Banquet, held April 18 at the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati.

The annual ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Awards recognize the stars of the community’s hospitality industry — front-line employees who provide excellent service to positively influence a visitor’s experience. Bass was a ROSE Award winner in 2012 and chosen for the Hall of Fame this year.

“Jeannie has helped more than 300,000 callers and visitors in her career at CVG and she always does it with a smile on her face and reassurance in her voice,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer at CVG. “She is often one of the first or last people our visitors speak with, and she is a tremendous ambassador for the airport and this community.”

Jeannie takes more than 100 calls a day — more than 200 on bad-weather days — from passengers who have questions about traveling to and from the airport. Perhaps they are having trouble with their airline reservation or their rental car. Some are lost on the highway. Many want to know about flight delays.

Answering these types of questions does not fall into her normal job duties, but she always goes above and beyond and assists them in a manner that calms their concerns.

“In an age when it is difficult to get a live person on the phone, I know callers are often relieved to hear my voice,” Bass said. “They are happy to hear, ‘How can I help you?’ I want to do everything I can to make sure they get the answers they need and have a positive impression about their visit to our region.”
