Celebrate The 42nd Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio

A Celebration of Texas Culture

2013-06-06 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Texas Folklife Festival, held June 7-9, celebrates the diverse cultural groups that have shaped Texas. Inspired by the Smithsonian Institute’s annual Folklife Festival, the Texas Folklife Festival is held on the beautiful grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio, aside the Tower of the Americas and a stone’s throw from the picturesque River Walk.

The Texas Folklife Festival gathers more than 40 cultures that built Texas to share their heritage and traditions. This family friendly event is a hands-on way for children to learn about different cultures with seven stages dedicated to music and dance performance, over 150 unique food items, a carnival and arts and crafts. Visitors will be able to learn from basket weavers, wood carvers, jewelry makers, living history re-enactors, gardeners, rope makers and more.

Visitors are invited to experience the beauty of a true Texas tradition. Learn more about the Texas Folklife Festival at http://www.texancultures.com/festivals_events/texas_folklife_2013/San Antonio hotel packages and travel discounts are available at www.visitsanantonio.com.
