Caribbean Airlines and Guyana Tourism Authority host media familiarization trip for U.S. based journalists

PORT OF SPAIN, 2015-11-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Caribbean Airlines is the official airline partner for a five-day media familiarization trip being hosted by the Guyana Tourism Authority for a group of U.S. based journalists. The purpose of the media trip is to expose Guyana’s undiscovered gems and vast natural attractions to American nature-lovers, adventure seekers, and cultural enthusiasts. Caribbean Airlines’ support of the media trip is part of its commitment to expand its service to Guyana.

“Guyana is an important destination for Caribbean Airlines, and we are delighted to support international journalists visiting Guyana for a familiarization tour from November 17-22,” states Dionne Ligoure, Head of Corporate Communications at Caribbean Airlines.  Ligoure continues, “As the airline with Flag Carrier Status, Caribbean Airlines is committed to the people of Guyana with whom we have enjoyed a long legacy of cooperation providing consistent and reliable service since our start in 2007.”

As a result of the media opportunity that will come as a result of this trip, Caribbean Airlines stands to strengthen its position as the premier carrier to Guyana with over 40 weekly flights out of the South American destination.

The airline’s new transit arrangements in Trinidad now makes it possible for customers on certain flights to connect from Guyana seamlessly to many of the airline’s connection points to the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean without being required to deplane.

Caribbean Airlines recognizes the key role it plays in maintaining links between the Guyanese Diaspora, the business community, tourist and other stakeholders traveling to/from Guyana, which makes the support of this media familiarization tour more important.
