CAA research: More flights operate on time at Liverpool John Lennon Airport compared to other top UK airports

LIVERPOOL, 2015-5-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Passengers choosing to travel via Liverpool John Lennon Airport are more likely to have their flights operate on time compared to flights operating from 10 other top UK airports, according to the latest research published by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Figures for 2014, show that the overall on-time performance of scheduled flights (defined as the proportion of flights arriving or departing early or up to 15 minutes late) at 10 popular UK airports, was 79%.  At LJLA however, some 90% of scheduled flights operated on time over this period, highlighting that flights operating from and to Liverpool are some of the most punctual in the UK.

Colin Swaine, Operations Director for LJLA commented, “Staff here at Liverpool work hard to ensure that flights operate on time focusing on key operational aspects of the business to give our airline customers the highest levels of service. This hard work continues to really pay dividends for our passengers too, who can book with confidence, knowing that more flights operate on time from here than at many of our competitors.”

Aircraft ‘turnrounds’ at JLA are amongst the best in the UK for on time performance.

The CAA statistics on punctuality of passenger flights cover both arrivals and departures for 10 UK airports – the London airports of Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and London City, and Regional airports, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
