British experiences among world’s Great Adventures

2012-10-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — Great Adventures is an inspirational new title from Lonely Planet which showcases a wealth of exciting experiences from across the globe including six British adventures.

The hardback book contains the world’s most thrilling adventures in 9 themed chapters; Hike, Dive, Bike, Above & Below, Climb, Ice & Snow, Animals, Water and Drive.

The British experiences which feature in the book are; walking England’s South West Coast, mountain biking Coed y Brenin (north Wales), caving in the Peak District, the Three Peaks Challenge, rowing the Thames and coasteering in Pembrokeshire.

On rowing the Thames the book states, “A journey along its length is like sitting on a conveyor belt watching living history pass you by on both banks,” whilst ambling England’s South West Coast is “walking at its most diverse, most spectacular and most delicious.”

Each adventure is detailed over 4 pages, with practical information on how you can make it happen, as well as alternative challenges and some related armchair reading to get you in the mood. Each experience is also illustrated with beautiful images.

The British adventures feature alongside a diverse selection of incredible experiences from tracking mountain gorillas in Uganda, cycling Nepal’s Annapurna circuit and swimming with whale sharks.

Great Adventures follows the success of Great Journeys which was released last year.
