Bristol Airport expects 110,000 passengers this busy bank holiday weekend

More than 110,000 passengers are expected to use Bristol Airport over the Bank Holiday weekend (Friday 26 August – Monday 29 August inclusive).

Bristol, ENGLAND, 2016-Aug-25 — /Travel PR News/ — With the summer season already on track to surpass previous passenger levels, airlines and tour operators are reporting strong bookings for what is traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the year for air travel.

Traditional summer sun destinations in Greece, Cyprus and Turkey remain high on the list for holidaymakers. Closer to home, short breaks in Scotland and Ireland are also proving popular.

However, it is not all one way traffic. Bristol Airport is expecting an influx of visitors from around the UK and overseas as travellers fly in to meet friends and family to enjoy the holiday weekend together or to visit the region’s attractions.

Departing passengers are reminded to allow extra time for their journey to the Airport over the busy Bank Holiday weekend. In order to complete essential processes such as check-in, security and boarding, passengers are advised to arrive a minimum of two hours in advance of their flight departure.

Arriving passengers can help keep time spent at border control to a minimum by having passports open to the photograph page and removing hats and sunglasses in advance of inspection, with families encouraged to go through the border together.
