Aviation veteran Jason Berry to become managing director of Alaska Air Cargo

SEATTLE, 2015-8-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Alaska Airlines has named 19-year aviation veteran Jason Berry managing director of Alaska Air Cargo. In his new role Berry will lead cargo operations in 60 cities, manage a staff of 300 and oversee sales and marketing. Berry replaces Betsy Bacon, who will retire on Sept. 1.

“As the largest air cargo operator on the U.S. West Coast, Alaska Air Cargo plays a critical role in moving freight throughout the country and in the communities we serve throughout Alaska,” said Jeff Butler, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of airport operations customer service. “Jason’s expertise in cargo and operations will help position this side of our business for future growth.”

Previously, Berry served as director of operations and compliance programs for Alaska Air Cargo throughout its North American network. Before joining Alaska Air Cargo, Berry was the general manager for Menzies Aviation, where he managed ground handling, cargo operations and a staff of 700 people at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Berry also worked at Cargolux Airlines International where he was the area operations manager and was responsible for implementing and managing the company’s quality assurance, safety and compliance programs.
