VIENNA, AUSTRIA, 2015-12-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Austrian Airlines carried more than 785,500 passengers in November 2015. This corresponds to a year-on-year increase of 1.9 percent from November 2014, although the flight offering measured in available seat kilometers (ASK) was reduced by 1.5 percent. Revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) rose by 1.0 percent. Capacity utilization (passenger load factor) was at an average of 75.0 percent, an improvement of 1.8 percentage points compared to the previous year.

In the period January to November 2015, Austrian Airlines carried more than 10.1 million passengers. The year-on-year decrease of 2.9 percent is in line with the business plan. This decline reflects the targeted management of capacities in European flight traffic which were reduced in the course of the year as a result of the weak business in Eastern Europe, particularly relating to Russia and Ukraine. The flight offering as measured in ASK matched the prior-year level, whereas revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) fell by 0.9 percent. Cumulative capacity utilization declined as expected by 0.7 percentage points to 78.4 percent.
