Airport’s Quieter Home Program celebrates completion of its 2,000th home

Milestone will be honored with community BBQ event

What:

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and its Quieter Home Program (QHP) are celebrating a major milestone: the renovation of their 2,000th home. The Quieter Home  Program offers free sound attenuation for homes under the airport’s flight path, helping reduce the effects of airplane noise. QHP began its work in 2001 and is the largest single acoustic insulation program in the United States. To mark the milestone, the Airport Authority is hosting a community BBQ for those  who’ve been involved in the program, to be held at the Point Loma Tennis Club—the
location of the 2,000th home.

Thursday, July 26, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

  • 5:30 – 5:45 p.m. – Remarks
  • 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Open house tour of completed home
