Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) named Elizabeth Robinson, PhD, its new director of Finance and chief financial officer (CFO)

WASHINGTON, 2014-10-31 — /Travel PR News/ — Today, the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) announced that Elizabeth Robinson, PhD, will be joining the Association as director of Finance and chief financial officer (CFO) on November 3, 2014. Robinson will lead ALPA’s finance team.

Robinson comes to ALPA from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), where she held the position of CFO since 2009. “Having worked with her in the past, I’m confident in her tremendous ability,” said ALPA’s general manager Lori Garver. “I look forward to her bringing her expertise and commitment to ALPA.”

As NASA’s CFO, Robinson developed and advocated for NASA’s annual budget request, creating NASA’s strategic plan, issuing NASA’s annual financial and performance reports, and leading NASA’s financial enterprise. She updated procedures and controls while achieving a clean audit for the first time in almost a decade—and improved office morale at the same time.

Prior to her role at NASA, Beth served as assistant director for Budget at the Office of Management and Budget and deputy director at the Congressional Budget Office. She has a long career in strategic planning, budgeting, and operations, and is known for her ability to motivate teams and build consensus across departments and organizations.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the world’s largest pilot union, representing more than 51,000 pilots at 30 airlines in the United States and Canada. Visit the ALPA website at www.alpa.org or follow us on Twitter @WeAreALPA.
