Lufthansa to Offer Daily A380 Service to Houston; Aircraft Media Tours

Inaugural Flight and Arrival of Lufthansa A380 to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Invitation-only Airport Event:

• 12 PM – Check-in for Aircraft Touchdown, Inaugural Ceremony (pre-registration required). Please bring your passport and press credentials. You will receive a special gate pass and wrist band identifying you as a VIP guest in order to proceed through security and go directly to gates D 11 & D 12.

• 1:50 PM – Flight arrival
*Note: Estimated time of arrival is 1:50pm; actual time might be earlier or later. We will announce a more specific estimate via e-mail the morning of August 1.

• 2:25 PM – Inaugural Ceremony & Press Conference with Mayor Annise Parker; Mario Diaz, Houston Airport System Director; Lance Lyttle, Houston Airport System COO and Juergen Siebenrock, Lufthansa VP The Americas

• 3 PM – A380 Aircraft Tours begin
– Space is limited for tarmac access and aircraft tours; media must RSVP as soon as possible.
– All media need to register by Friday, July 27, and must bring a government-issued picture ID.

Public Viewing Party – IAH Airport Ranger North Trail Head (off 1960 just East of Farrell Rd.)

• 12:00 PM – Event begins – DJ and Contests – snacks and drinks provided

• Best luggage packing, best Lederhosen, best Yodeling
• Grand prize includes Lufthansa airline tickets

• 1:50 PM – Flight arrival

Where:

• Airport event check-in: Location: IAH, west end of Terminal D, near Lufthansa Ticketing Counters
• Park in Parking Garage D/E (Tickets will be validated)

Press Opportunities:

• Tarmac access for AV media and photographers
• Capture visuals of aircraft arrival; exterior shots; aircraft interior including new First Class
• Interviews with Lufthansa executives, flight captain and cabin crew, and Airport officials
• Exclusive onboard aircraft tours with product expert guides (filming allowed on aircraft)

Press Registration Requirements:

• Media must pre-register with Lufthansa. (Once confirmed, tour participation is non-transferable.)
• All media participants must complete documents for review
• Before boarding the aircraft, media must present press credentials and valid ID
• All tour participants will be processed through standard airport security and must obey all TSA guidelines
