CHICAGO, 2013-07-17 — /travelprnews.com/ — Think you’re strong enough to pull an airplane? Here’s your chance to prove it!

Gather your friends, family and co-workers to participate in the 5th Annual Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run Plane Pull for Special Olympics at O’Hare International Airport on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10 a.m.

Men and women are invited to compete in teams of 20 and play tug-of-war with an Airbus 300 aircraft weighing more than 180,000 pounds. This fun and truly unique event is brought to you by the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and UPS.

Registration is now open! Sign up for the event here.

Teams can compete in one of two divisions: Open Division (ideal for companies, school teams, church groups, clubs, friends and families) and Public Safety Division (law enforcement officers, fire fighters, military personnel, etc.; teams need at least 10 public safety competitors to qualify).

Bring out the family! There will be live music, food and fun activities for adults and kids alike. Spectators are also welcome to attend and cheer on their favorite team.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Illinois, a non-profit organization that provides sports training and athletic competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities and young athletes.
